The sections of today
Chemistry is a natural science that studies matter. The alchemists are considered to be the first chemists. They tried to create the elixir of life and manage to transform iron ore into gold. Today's chemistry mainly works with molecules, combinations, reactions which occur between substances, and changes of energy that happen during those processes. Another purpose of this modern science is to determine the laws which may describe the relations and phenomena in chemical reactions. It may help to create the needed matters artificially. Chemistry interacts quite closely with biology and physics.
Inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry analytical chemistry, physical and biological chemistry are the parts of general definition “Chemistry”.
Organic chemistry is named organic because it was believed that organic compounds had a lot to do with life. Nevertheless, this was a misconception. Organic components may be developed in ways which do not related to life or living organisms. On the contrary, some inorganic elements are necessary for some life processes, for example, cooper and iron.
Organic chemistry promotes the researches of matters which are made of carbon and hydrogen. This science studies their construction, features, composition and processes. Organic combinations are commonly used in a lot of products, including plastics, foods, drugs, etc.
Analytical chemistry is a subdivision of chemistry which attempts to describe the laws of reactions that take place in compositions of organic and inorganic matters. It describes the geometric structure of molecules that helps to realize the reactions better. It also performs the studies to determine the composition and characteristics of given elements. Analytical chemistry is experimental in nature and in this way it is similar to physical chemistry. It is founded on the researches and the results are very useful for providing the safety of the environmental and saving the natural resources.
